“Beauty and the Beast” by Ariana Grande and John Legend

arianalegendJohn Legend returns to his soulful elements, and Ariana Grande to her Disney roots in their reading of “Beauty and the Beast” titular theme.

The 1991 Grammy award winning song that earned accolades for both Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson may be hard to match in terms of dynamic tension and magic, but it is worth the remake in order to relive the famed fairy-tale that once entranced our generation. The remake’s contemporary orchestration provides an avenue to highlight Grande’s vocal prowess set against Legend’s soulful pipes cementing their rendition as a dynamic live entity giving the iconic theme a breath of fresh air.

Dangerous Woman poses no threat at all to Dion’s fans nor Legend to Bryson, and this generation deserves a memory to live by when the live action remake drops next month. What’s a better way to relish such a wonderful timeless tale than a gravel-throated prince pulling it off stylishly side by side with a pop-piped Disney princess? Be my guest.
