Girl Problems. If you are looking for a message in Chris Lane’s debut album, well, that pretty sums it all.
But give him credit: This American country pop singer knows how to push boundaries in his music that makes him not to sound too samey with his contemporaries.
Known for eclectic blend of country, pop, and R&B rollers infused in his constructs, Lane has managed to slip his signature sound in his new single, “For Her” off from “Girl Problems” album. “For Her” is cliché-strewn ode to a girl who can turn a man’s world upside down, but Lane defies your expectations with his tender falsetto atop banjo-flecked proceedings leaving you the aftertaste of gleefully ribald rhyme and much-needed warmth.
