“Why did you leave me here to burn?/ I’m way too young to be this hurt.” These are strong openers from Camila Cabello in her first solo outfit “Crying in the Club” from her upcoming album “The Hurting The Healing The Loving”. The much-anticipated album is expected to be bouncing between cuts of her emotional vibe which she refers to as her “journey from darkness into light, from a time when (she) was lost to a time when (she) found (herself)” starting off with “I Have Questions” which she wrote herself. Yikes!
With “Crying in the Club”, Cabello is just getting warmed up streamlining this proceeding with poppier hooks, tighter arrangement and meatier beats that slow burn to a more accessible dance groove pivoting her transformation into a formidable woman who is strong and resilient with the test of times.
Her mega-producer Benny Blanco is all praise for the effort she has exerted to make this breakout song a definitive cut for the Cuban sweetheart. In a Billboard article, Blanco said of the single co-written by Sia: “It’s special and unique, and not like anything else that’s out there right now. I think it really shows the next stage of her life”.
Cabello ups the ante after she left Fifth Harmony and embarked on her solo venture spawning hit after hit. The anticipation has grown denser with the release of this semi-industrial track that carries her sinister and sexy vocal chops to the top without the tears.
