Patience is a virtue for American singer Jake Miller as he takes his own sweet time easing into a punchier R&B fare, slowly picking up the pace for his self-produced album “2:00 am in LA”.
In an interview, Miller said of the album: “I’m the most proud of it because I channeled every single motion in my body and I poured every ounce of it into this music.”
With 10 slices of all-original music he penned and produced, Miller expands his proceedings with more universal lyrics expanding his electro-powwow with cuts that display more of his vocal and musical range than you’d expect.
His latest single, “Parties”, has never lost an ounce of brooding intensity. Smacked right in the middle of party people and cutting through the crowd, Miller sounds bruised and even sharper with tender pipes forming a platter of sorts way beyond the earthy “Overnight” tracks. Pity that he doesn’t go to party anymore.
