Michael Ray Spins Inventive Romantic Balladry in “Get To You”

Country singer Michael Ray follows his own path. Having maintained the positive vibes of commendable efforts like “Kiss You in the Morning” and “Think a Little Less” from his self-titled debut album in 2015, this Florida native proffers another hit from his upcoming sophomore album about taking second chances at love all voiced in his delicate croon and spun to a boundlessly inventive romantic balladry.

The single in question, “Get To You”, comes from Ray’s upcoming sophomore album. Written by Abe Stoklasa and Pavel Dovgalyuk, the song follows Ray’s unflinching honesty to convince a girl who has sworn off love to let someone in her life again.

“Get To You” runs a gamut of emotions set against a backdrop of landscapes and resonates wistful nostalgia (“Girl there’s always gonna be some pain / A little sunshine a little rain / It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it) rendered in first-take honesty while taking his music to whole new level executed in striking style of baritone bray that only Ray is able do. Chapter one is promising enough to keep the fans agog for the next.
